VMware vCenter 5.5 Web Client Console Fix

Let me start out by saying I love the web interface in vSphere 5.5.

It’s powerful, it’s quick and it’s clean. However, there was one thing that disappointed me. When I first went to open a console, I thought it would open automatically like it did in the old versions, but nothing happened.

After some digging, I found the problem is port 7331. When the vCenter is installed, port 7331 is not opened by the vCenter installer on the vCenter itself. This becomes a problem when you’re connecting with the web client, because the web client wants to connect back to the vCenter on port 7331.
