Finance chief Rick Ward promoted to FEI board

Friday, November 20, 2015 – One year after joining the Blue Grass chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), Rick Ward has received an appointment to serve as a board member for the organization of senior-level finance executives.

Ward operates as executive vice president of finance and administration for Lexington-based NetGain Technologies, where he has been a team member for nearly 20 years. His forward thinking approach and in-depth working knowledge of the financial industry, along with his ability to manage and support staff in continuous professional development, have been evident in NetGain’s growth as a worldwide top-100 managed IT services provider.

Rick Ward of NetGain TechnologiesThe FEI, which was established in 1931 and has 75 chapters in the U.S. and Japan, recognizes that a successful financial executive must not only master his or her own job, but also have an understanding of other corporate roles. Finance leaders have the ability to oversee several different projects simultaneously. The FEI Board was formed to enable local financial executives to network with each other, share best practices in their field, and align themselves with a culture that follows ethical leadership in critical national and global policy debates.

The FEI’s local chapter also provides a vital forum for Lexington businesses’ financial executives to engage in knowledge-building conferences and seminars. A give-and-take relationship between Board members fosters support for local companies and leads the way in bettering the Lexington economy. By educating themselves and other financial business executives in best business practices, the FEI members contribute to the growth and stability of the local economy.

Jason Jacobson, director of corporate development for NetGain, commended Ward for his service to the FEI board. “Rick’s knowledge of the local business community is a big win for the FEI. As he works with other board members to guide the organization’s development, his contacts with senior finance executives and CFOs throughout the region will help the FEI reach a larger audience.”

Ward looks forward to helping the finance organization achieve its goals. “Since joining the FEI’s local chapter in November 2014, I’ve had the opportunity to engage with fellow finance leaders from important Lexington-area businesses. I’m humbled to join the FEI board and I am eager to promote the organization’s values and community-building objectives.”
